This recently launched application seeks to improve security, transparency, and accessibility within the telecom industry.

With functionalities that enable users to monitor their mobile connections, report fraudulent activities, and block lost devices, this application represents a significant advancement towards a more secure and efficient telecom environment.

Government’s New Initiative to Strengthen Telecom Connectivity

On Monday, Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, introduced a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing the telecom sector.

These initiatives encompass the Sanchar Saathi Mobile Application, the National Broadband Mission (NBM) 2.0, and the rollout of Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) at DBN-funded 4G mobile sites.

This launch signifies a major leap forward in ensuring uninterrupted connectivity, particularly for users of leading telecom service providers such as Reliance Jio, Airtel, and BSNL.

Intra Circle Roaming to Address Signal Challenges

A key component of this initiative is the introduction of Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) at DBN-funded 4G mobile sites.

The objective is to resolve signal challenges by enabling various telecom service providers (TSPs) to share infrastructure.

Minister Scindia emphasized that this strategy allows BSNL, Airtel, and Reliance Jio to work together and utilize a single network tower, thereby eliminating the need for separate installations granted, over 27,836 DBN-funded sites will now offer improved connectivity for users, reducing costs while enhancing coverage.

This development will benefit approximately 35,400 rural and remote villages, ensuring that mobile subscribers in rural India enjoy a more dependent telecom service without the necessity for multiple towers from different operators.
